Stewards of Children: Preventing Child Abuse: Thursday, October 11, 6 p.m.
Join this important training presented by NOVA, the Network of Victim Assistance, for a prevention training that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Featuring real people and empowering experiences, this training conveys a five-step approach to prevent child sexual abuse through an audio-visual presentation and supplemental workbook. Participants will leave this training feeling better prepared to protect the children in their lives and communities.
The Red Cross and YOU! Thursday, October 18, 7 p.m.
This talk includes everything you want to know about the Red Cross: from their establishment in Northern Italy in 1859 to their local work in Bucks County. They will discuss what people need to do NOW to be Red Cross Ready and better prepared at home ahead of a disaster. They will also share details about the Home Fire Campaign, SOUND THE ALARM!, which includes the installation of free smoke alarms and other life-saving information.

Sponsored by The Friends of the Levittown Library, this class is suited for those new to yoga, as well as those who have previous experience. Participants will use the support of a chair to practice poses and stretches. Although it is ideal for those who have limited mobility due to various physical limitations and balance considerations, this program is open to people of all ages, levels of experience, flexibility and physical ability.
QPR Suicide Prevention Training, Wednesday, September 26, 6 p.m.
Question. Persuade. Refer. Three simple steps could save a life. During this class, the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force, sponsored by Magellan Healthcare, will help you to become a QPR Gatekeeper, trained to understand and recognize a mental health crisis. You will learn the warning signs of suicide and the language to talk about it. Using simple QPR steps, Gatekeepers will learn how to offer hope and help to individuals to access appropriate supports. A Certificate of Completion will be provided at the end of the training. This training is best for high school students and adults.
