Beginning Monday, June 22, we’ll launch our new Curbside Pickup service.
You can request items for pickup by placing a hold in our catalog or calling your branch. We will let you know by e-mail when your hold is available for pickup. After you receive your email notification, head to your pickup library and park in one of the spots designated for curbside pickup.
When you arrive, text “here” to the number on the sign or call the branch. Make sure you have your library card number ready! Your items will be brought out to you.
We are not accepting returned materials at curbside because they must be quarantined. If you need to return materials we will ask that you put them in the book drop or other receptacle.
We are not accepting payments at curbside. If you need to make a payment on your account we will ask that you make an online payment at the time you place your curbside order.
Summer Quest, BCFL’s favorite time of the year, will return on Saturday, June 20, bringing with it six weeks of fun.
This year, because of COVID-19, Summer Quest will be different. We’ll still be tracking reading minutes, earning limited-edition badges, and enjoying live performances together. But all of this fun will take place online so that we can stay safe.
Visit our Summer Quest page for all the details you need to know about: our Beanstack Reading Challenge; limited-edition badges; schedule of performers, and Quick Bite Videos.
We can’t wait for you to play, learn, create, and explore with the library for a summer full of fun!

Updated on June 19, 2020: Our book drops are open. Curbside Pickup begins Monday, June 22. Our branches will reopen on Monday, July 6. Bucks County has been designated by Governor Wolf as being in the COVID-19 Green Phase beginning June 26. Bucks County Free Library branches and our District member libraries are getting ready to open. Learn more.
Our buildings may be closed, but our WiFi is still on, and you can use it for free in our branch parking lots and outside our buildings. Look for painted WiFi symbols showing the best spots to park to access the signal. For branches where the signal does not reach the parking lot, you can see areas outside the buildings where you can connect here.
Please practice social distancing while using our WiFi and remember, it’s a public network.
Do you want to learn how to do something on your computer, tablet, or device? Need help downloading or streaming e-books, music, movies, and other digital content? Is your computer running slow or are you worried that your device might have spyware? Even though our buildings are closed, we can help you remotely with Remote Help Desk.
Our skilled staff members can assist you with your technology questions and problems over the phone and with remote software.
Get started by scheduling an appointment for Technology Learning Services or Computer Support Services and a staff member will contact you.
With our buildings closed, you are using our e-library and borrowing more e-content than ever before. Now you can borrow even more! We’ve temporarily increased your monthly Hoopla borrows from 10 to 12 items. Combine that with Hoopla Bonus Borrows that don’t count toward your monthly limit, and you’ve got plenty of eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics, streaming music, movies, and TV shows to keep you entertained during this “new normal” period.
This change is in effect until September 1, 2020, at which time Hoopla borrowing limits will revert to 10 items per month.
If you have experienced long hold times on OverDrive, check out the titles in cloudLibrary or Hoopla. Remember, Hoopla titles are available immediately with no hold or wait times.
In order to reduce wait times for cloudLibrary eBooks and eAudiobooks, we have reduced the hold pickup period for cloudLibrary materials from 4 days to 2 days.
How to Receive Notification of Holds in cloudLibrary
In a browser: Sign in to cloudLibrary, then click on Settings. Make sure the option “Yes, notify me” is selected and the email in the box is correct. Make any changes needed and click “Save.”
In the app: Tap on “Account” at the bottom of the screen, then tap “Notifications.” Choose which notifications you wish to receive (grey switches indicate that you have chosen not to receive a particular notification). Turn on “Email notifications,” make sure your e-mail is correct, and tap “Save” in the top right.
