The only thing better than reading a good book is having one read to you! Books from our Readalong collection like “The Last Comics on Earth” and “The Wild Robot Escapes” have built-in speakers with audio-narrated tracks. These books transform into all-in-one readalong materials that are perfect for new, struggling, and bilingual readers from preschoolers to elementary-age children.
“This collection contains 1,376 items and boasts the highest checkout rate in our easy and juvenile collections,” said Collections Management Director, Holly. “On average, our Readalong collection is checked out more than twice as often as our other collections!”
No batteries, smart devices, or internet connections are required to use these books. The charger to power them is a universal micro-USB cord, which can be found in many homes, but is also available at the library. These readalong books, which have been popular since their introduction in 2019, are available to all library users in Bucks County.
BCFL is excited to add more titles to this collection thanks to the support of the Excellent and Equitable Youth Services Collection Grant by the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the PA Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
