Happy TeenTober! TeenTober is a new nationwide celebration hosted by libraries in October where we celebrate teens and help them connect with library resources that help them meet their goals. In addition to books, the library has lots of free services to help teens level up their academics and learn vital creative skills and hobbies at their own pace. All it takes is a library card. You can even apply online!
Do you need some help with your classes or want to make sure that your schoolwork is the best it can be? Check out Brainfuse Help Now! This free service allows you to meet with LIVE tutors, get your questions answered by subject experts, and submit your writing to receive tips on improving. You can even get live help completing your FAFSA or improving your chess game!
Are you the creative type? Visit LinkedIn Learning to check out our collection of free online classes in creative and tech subjects such as drawing, graphic design, animation, photography, music, coding, and more. Whether you want to play the ukulele, create your own graphic novel, or learn more about video production to finesse the look of your social media, LinkedIn Learning’s got you covered.
If you’re interested in helping your community, all of our branch locations offer volunteer opportunities for teens 12 and above. Visit our volunteer webpage and apply to help with events, shelve books and other materials, and more. Our libraries will work to match you up with something to help you earn volunteer hours, gain experience working with children, or just spend time around books and people who love books.
Also, finally, BOOKS! If you’ve heard about it from your friends, from #BookTok, or BookTube, the chances are good that you can borrow it from the library. You can peruse our physical collection at one of our seven branches or check out our online collection.
