Shelve returning bestsellers, DVDs, and games. Straighten shelves. Fill displays. Check returned DVD sets and other audio-visuals to make sure all pieces are in the package and in good shape. Refresh DVDs using a buffing machine. Unpack incoming new materials and check packing slips against invoices. Check in the items using the library’s catalog software and sort new materials onto carts. Push carts onto the public floor for display and shelving.
Physical Demands: Occasionally lift boxes up to 25 lbs. and push carts up to 75 lbs. Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above and below shoulders. Repetitive hand use grasping books. Continuously stand and walk for up to two hours.
Qualifications: Enjoys independent work and hands-on activities. Pays attention to detail. Ability to sort books and other library materials into alphabetical or Dewey Decimal order.
