Help people find their way around the library. Greet them as they enter. Direct them to the area of the library or resource they are seeking, referring questions to staff as needed. Answer questions about the building and current programs or activities. Help people use the self-check machines and look up items in the catalog. Hand out library card applications, bookmarks, brochures, surveys, and give-a-ways. During down times, shelve and straighten materials and fill book displays near the entryway.
Physical Demands: Continuously stand and walk for up to two hours.
Qualifications: Enjoys talking with and helping others. Knowledge of library services, catalog, and website. Skill in teaching others. Ability to adapt teaching style to people at all levels.
