The Bucks County Free Library is looking for an experienced professional to serve as the Community Resources Coordinator for our 7 branches, with a special focus on the Doylestown, Levittown, and Quakertown branches.
In this position you will plan, coordinate, and implement county-wide community resource-focused initiatives and projects for all branches of the Bucks County Free Library. You will work directly with library customers who need social service assistance by providing information, support, and referrals to appropriate organizations. Additionally, you will build relationships with a diverse library clientele and collaborate with community organizations to support community members in need.
The ideal candidate will serve as a resource for library staff and will model effective techniques for working with customers experiencing mental health, substance abuse, unstable housing and trauma. In this role, you will guide, coach, mentor, and train library staff. Additionally, you will participate in community meetings and outreach, and are responsible for coordinating community-focused events and programs.
This is an FSLA exempt position.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public health, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Two years of experience providing direct service to at-risk, marginalized populations.
- One year of experience working in libraries, community centers, or other community-based organization.
- Applicant must provide on date of hire the following three required clearances: PA State Police Criminal Record Check; PA Child Abuse History Clearance; and FBI fingerprint-based background check.
- Must have current driver’s license, insurance, and own transportation or ability to travel among many library sites.
Schedule: Full-time schedule Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings or weekends. Regular travel to assigned branches required. Travel to outreach or offsite events required as scheduled.
Starting Salary: $67,030 – $ 70,586 DOQ
