Richard comes to the library to feel a sense of belonging.
Each week, he visits the library’s Bensalem branch, collects the newspapers from a staff member who has them waiting, and photocopies puzzles to do at home.
“I’ve been reading the newspaper since I was four,” Richard says. “Newspapers are vital for our democracy.”
Talking with the library staff who prepare his newspapers is just as important. “These days I don’t have many people to have an intelligent conversation with,” Richard explains. “So I like to chat with them for a while.”
