Computers
All branches of Bucks County Free Library and most system member libraries have computers with Office 2016 and internet browsers. A library card and PIN are required to use computers at all Bucks County Free Library branches and most system member libraries.
Computer users must follow the library system’s Computer and Network Access Policy.
Copier-Printers
All branches of Bucks County Free Library have black and white and color copier-printers. Black and white documents are $0.20 per page, and color documents are $1 per page.
Documents can be sent to Bucks County Free Library printers from library computers, any device connected to the “Library” Wifi network, or from home. After printing from home, visit the branch you selected. Your document will be saved in the print queue by the email address you entered when printing.
Most system member libraries have black and white copier-printers and the ability to accept printouts from any device on the “Library” Wifi network.
Digital Scanners and Fax Machines
All branches of Bucks County Free Library offer free self-serve scanners to convert documents and images into digital formats. Standard quality (200 DPI), high quality (300 DPI) and photo quality (600 DPI) scans are available.
Scanned items can be saved as PDF, searchable PDF, Microsoft Word, TIFF or JPEG files. After scanning, files can be sent via email (maximum 5 MB file size), saved on a flash drive, or faxed for $0.25 per page.
CCTV Magnifiers
All Bucks County Free Library branches have stand-mounted CCTV/video magnifiers that enlarge text and display it on a screen. In some branches, the magnifier is stored and can be brought out as requested.
Microfilm/Microfiche Reader
The Doylestown branch of Bucks County Free Library offers a microfilm and microfiche reader. It offers a keyword-finding function and the ability to print or save source material in JPEG or PDF formats.
Slide/Film/Negative Converter
The Doylestown branch of Bucks County Free Library offers a slide/film/negative converter. It digitizes 35 mm, 126 mm, 110 mm, and super 8 film, including color or black and white negatives or slides. A library SD card may be used for temporary storage; however, users are expected to bring their own SD cards for permanent storage.
WiFi
All Bucks County public libraries offer free WiFi inside and outside the library, near each building.
