This summer,we are embarking on a new quest, and we want you to join us! This quest will take us through the prehistoric past of towering dinosaurs, woolly mammoths, ancient pyramids, and magnificent kingdoms!
Our 2026 theme is dinosaurs, paleontology, and archeology, and we’re excited to share free programs, limited-edition badges, and new reading challenges and themed activities with you.
Let’s dig up some fun this summer at the library!
All Summer Quest programs are free and registration is not required. Space is first come, first served. Check your branch’s calendar to see all of the special performers coming to the library this summer.
Summer Quest Kick-Off Event
Saturday, June 13
From magicians and musicians to science experts and animals, the first day of Summer Quest at all seven of our BCFL branches will feature special performers, sure to prepare you for a summer full of fun!
- Bensalem branch: Ran’D Shine 11am
- Doylestown branch: Dinosaurs Rock 11am, Abby London 2pm
- Langhorne branch: Petting Zoo at 11 AM
- Levittown branch: Science Heroes 11am, Eyes of the Wild 2pm
- Perkasie branch: NJ Snakeman 11am
- Quakertown branch: Abby London 11am, NJ Snakeman 2pm
- Yardley-Makefield branch: Eyes of the Wild 11am, Ran’D Shine 2pm
When you visit on Kick-Off Day and pick up your Summer Quest Activity Log, you’ll have a chance to enter a raffle for a prize of four tickets to HersheyPark!
Pick Up Your Activity Log
Starting June 13, visit your library to pick up your Summer Quest Activity Log. As you complete reading and activity challenges, bring your log back to the library to:
- Earn raffle entries for exciting prizes
- Collect limited-edition badges
- Track your progress alongside your friends! Add a link to your community’s rainbow chain link which will be hung from the ceiling of each library!
Add Limited-Edition Badges to Your Collection
This year, our limited-edition summer badges are inspired by the different eras of the past: dinosaurs, woolly mammoths, ancient sea creatures, brave knights, and more!
- WAVE BACK WHEN– Explore what lies in the depths of the ancient sea.
- DINO-MIGHT– Travel to prehistoric times and encounter some of the world’s mightiest creatures!
- COOLY WOOLLY– Step into the frozen tundra and walk the paths of ancient giants!
- STONE AGE STYLE– Journey to the beginning of civilization.
- ANCIENT ARCHITECT– More majestic than the Mayan pyramids? Taller than the Egyptian pyramids? Can you build the next marvel of the world?
- NOBLE KNIGHTS – Take a journey through medieval times!
- Master Badge: CAN YOU DIG IT? – Earn this Master Badge by collecting all 6 badges!
Earn these six badges by completing challenges and activities on your Summer Quest Activity Log throughout the summer. When you earn all six badges, you’ll receive the exclusive Master Badge: the Can You Dig It? Badge!

Join one of our in-branch Badge Squad Programs to earn the exclusive Born to Read Badge!

Stay tuned for the final badge art!
New this year, kids will have the unique opportunity to earn the limited-edition BORN TO READ badge! This special badge can only be earned by attending one of our in-branch summer Badge Squad programs and completing the program activities.

Adults and Teens Can Join the Summer Fun, As Well!
Pick up an Adult Summer Reading Challenge Postcard at your branch. Fill it out with a short review of a book you’ve read – use the various category prompts to inspire yourself to read something new or different! Return the completed postcard to your library to be entered to win a raffle prize of a BCFL tote bag filled with library goodies.
Also, swing by one of our Adult Summer Reading Book Clubs this summer. These book club programs will be discussing titles off of our Adult Summer Reading List.
