The Bucks County Free Library is looking for a dynamic and versatile Adult Services Librarian to serve our Bensalem community. If you are someone who enjoys an active schedule engaging with teens and adults as well as pitching in alongside other library staff at the service desk and on the public floor, then we would love to hear from you.
In this position you will plan, lead, and deliver high-interest and engaging programs for teens and adults at the Bensalem branch. This position will also regularly schedule and conduct outreach visits. You will assist with existing county-wide popular programs for families, including summer reading. In teen services, you will maintain a thriving volunteer program and develop captivating programs that cater to teen interests. You will be comfortable and capable promoting the library’s programs and services and using and demonstrating library resources and software in all formats, including computers, tablets, smartphones and gadgets. You will perform collection management, reference and reader’s advisory, as well as circulation duties.
This is a bargaining unit position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a master’s degree. Degree required: Library/Information Studies.
- No previous experience required.
- Must have current driver’s license, insurance, and own transportation or ability to travel among many library sites
- Applicant must provide on date of hire the following three required clearances: PA State Police Criminal Record Check; PA Child Abuse History Clearance; and FBI fingerprint-based background check.
Schedule: Full-time 37.5 hr. variable schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Starting Wages: $28.14 probationary rate; $29.01 regular rate
